Hi, I'm Katie and I'm a former elementary classroom teacher, math interventionist, and coach. I'm also a mom to three young kids. I love teaching, and tutoring allows me to continue pursue my passion for education and still have time to chase after my little ones!
I believe that we are all learners and that every student can be positioned for success. Inside each and every one of us live strengths, passions, and the capacity for success. It is my great privilege as an educator to be able to help draw those out in the students with whom I work.
I believe that in order for learning to be effective it must be engaging, fun, and targeted to meet each learner wherever they may be. My goal is to ignite my students' natural curiosity, while also providing the support and structure they need to succeed.
I offer a complimentary 20-minute session to discuss your student's learning needs and build a plan for success.
I generally work with K-5 students for 30 or 45 minutes at a time. My primary focus is in mathematics and reading/writing, but can support students in any elementary subject area.
Summer is a great time to give students additional support through fun and engaging work to keep learning fresh and keep students ready for the upcoming school year.
